Since she founded her high school newspaper as a teenager, Jean has continually worked in the field of communications, from journalism to grant proposal writing, and from web design to marketing/public relations. She maintains a position on the cutting edge of information technologies.

She served as writer, contributor, editor, and/or publisher of a wide variety of local, national, and international publications. She served as Deputy Executive Director of Zonta International worldwide women’s service organization, Executive Director of Genesis House social service agency, and Executive Director of Camp Fire USA Metropolitan Chicago Council youth organization.

She has vast experience with grant requirements and strategies, outcome measures and evaluation, government programs, non-profit management, board development, and social dynamics. She serves as a volunteer management consutant for Children Without a Voice USA (CWAV), I Am You NFP, and the Universal Peace Plan.

Jean served as publications officer for Serra International worldwide Catholic organization, Mundelein College, and Claretian Publications. During a stint with the Chicago Department of Planning, she also wrote and produced the CD News newsletter for the city’s Community Development Block Grants program.

Jean has a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Master of Arts (with high honors) in Liberal Studies/Political Science from DePaul University in Chicago. Her continuing education includes additional graduate studies in Public Service Administration, as well as certification programs in youth development, website and rich internet applications, small business and non-profit management, and substance abuse counseling.
